What are the requirements to sponsor your parents in Dubai?
To sponsor your parents in Dubai, you are required to proceed with the following steps:
- Both parents need to be present for this process. In the case of death, divorce of parents, or other uncertainties, an attestation should be provided by the UAE Embassy in the home country and the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
- If the sponsor hold 2-years visa then you need to have an affidavit of the dependency certificate translated into Arabic and duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Government of the UAE, saying that you would look after the sponsored parents and be accountable for their well-being.
What are the documents required to sponsor your parents in Dubai?
To apply for a golden UAE Parent Visa, you must collect the following documents and submit them with your application:
List of Required Documents if the Sponsor Holds a 10-Year Visa
- Very clear sponsor’s passport page and residency Visa.
- Copies of parents’ passports in color (passports must be valid for at least six months).
- The birth certificate of the sponsor must be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the UAE Embassy in the country of origin. After that, it should be legalized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the UAE, followed by legal Arabic translation.
- If the birth certificate is not available, you may get a letter from your consulate to prove the relationship attested by MOFA and translated to Arabic.
- A high-quality applicant digital photo that matches the ICP specifications(Note: Please find the personal photo guidelines to be followed set by Federal Authority for Identity Citizenship, Customs & Port Security here).
- Applicants from the following countries Must Bring their National ID (IRAN – PAKISTAN – IRAQ – LIBYA – AFGHANISTAN).

- Sponsor’s bank statement for the last 3 months.
Notes
- In case the sponsor has sponsored his parents he/she cannot sponsor his/her parents in Law. Visa validity will be for 1 Year.
- Upon preparing the entry permit application, it will be transferred to the Humanitarian Cases Department through the GDRFA system and a bank guarantee of 5,000 will be required.
Residence Fees:
- 8,832.25 AED including the bank guarantee.

FAQ –
1 – Can a woman sponsor her parents in the UAE?
Yes, sponsoring parents in Dubai can be done by sons, daughters, son-in-laws, and daughters-in-law.
2 – What if the tenancy contract is not under my name, can I still sponsor my parents in the UAE?
It is impossible to apply for a family Visa in the UAE without a tenancy contract in your name. This is one of the documents needed to ensure that your application gets approved.
3- Is it possible to apply for Parents Visa, if the person is outside the country?
Since his physical presence is necessary within the country during the completion of the residency proceedings and he is not allowed to travel during the procedure, it is not possible to apply for a family Visa if the person is outside of it.
